ATLANTIC CITY -- It's been a rough year for casinos in Atlantic City, and the city is going to lose another one of its gambling spots.

This week Trump Entertainment Resorts announced it also plans to close a casino this year.

Already this year the Atlantic Club closed in January.

Revel is filing for bankruptcy and plans to close in September if there is no buyer.

Also, Showboat plans to close at the end of August.

"It's a shame but when we have so many casinos here in Pennsylvania, I would rather support the casinos here in Pennsylvania than go to New Jersey," Donna Kleedorfer of Nazareth said.

Trump Plaza isn't the only place to announce it's closing due to loss of revenue, three other casinos also plan to close or have already closed this year.

Here in our area, gamblers at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs say they're shocked another casino at the shore is closing.

"It's a shame that people have to lose their jobs when casinos close, but it gets to be too many places," Frank Krogstead of Kunkletown said.

Workers at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs said on Monday there were 16 buses at the casino.

One woman said she rides buses to Mohegan Sun quite often.

"I bring two buses up from Quakertown/Coopersburg the second Monday of every month," Leona Brown of Coopersburg said.

While the future of casinos in Atlantic City may be uncertain, those who play at Mohegan Sun say they aren't worried about the casino's future.

"This place is solid. This place is good. The property is all done up. The building is nice. The hotel is nice."

Newswatch 16 tried to contact Mohegan Sun to find out how business is going for them.

Our calls were not returned as of Monday evening.
