Summer Festival at St. Maria Goretti Parish
A Summer Festival is celebrated in Laflin at St. Maria Goretti
Church grounds on Laflin Road in Laflin. It’s held 25, 26 & 27,
each day 5 p.m. – 10 p.m. Summer Festival features ethnic food, bingo,
pony rides & great prizes. There’s live entertainment: with Flaxy Morgan, Friday, Flash Drive, Saturday & the Cinder Brothers, Sunday.
1940s Weekend
Eckley Miner’s Village sponsors a “1940s Weekend” at the Museum grounds on July 26 & 27 each day 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. It’s a living history production with a war front camp, life on the home front, musical performances, and a Holocaust survivor’s testimony. On Saturday morning there’s antique vehicle show & an evening Swing Dance at the Freeland Public Park Pavilion.
