Driver Falls Asleep and Crashes into Utility Pole

ORANGEVILLE — Police think a driver dozed off just before a wreck in Columbia County.

According to police, the driver lost control of his SUV, hit an embankment, and eventually ended up leaning on a utility pole on Route 487 in Orangeville.

Officials said the 19-year-old driver was not hurt in the crash just before 5:00p.m. on Monday.

According to authorities, PPL crews had to fix the pole after the crash in Columbia County.

    Thank God this young soul was spared! So important for you to have decent sleep! Kids in my house have awful sleeping habits! Won’t let them behind the wheel unless that changes! I could see this happening to mine! Sometimes jobs have you working shifts back-to-back that make this all too EZ to happen!
