DUNMORE -- A man cutting his grass this afternoon in Dunmore had to be rescued with ropes.

According to police, the man was cutting his lawn and when he went to dump his grass clippings from his property on Meade Street he fell 25 feet down a steep hill overlooking Interstate 81.

Witnesses said the man, in his 60s, had his cell phone and called for help.

Fire crews used specialized ropes to rescue him.

He was taken to a hospital and authorities said he suffered several broken bones.
