A well-known businessman from Lackawanna County has died.
Lawrence J. Sarno of Waverly Township, known by family and friends as Larry, died on Thursday from a medical issue.
In the 1930s, Larry's father, Ralph Sarno, opened Sarno and Son Formalwear in Scranton and Larry took over in the 1940s, opening dozens of stores and building the business into a multi-million dollar company.
Larry's daughter Nancy said her father was also an avid horseman, as well as a very talented artist.
Larry Sarno's funeral is scheduled for Tuesday at Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home in Clarks Summit.
