NORTHUMBERLAND--A longtime 4TH of July tradition wraps up tonight in one part of Northumberland County. Pineknotter Days is a week-long celebration filled with food, games, crafts and of course Independence Day fun.

Mike Daddario of Northumberland comes every year to see people he has not seen in a long time.

"This is when you meet people you haven't seen for years. People who lived here and moved out of town. They come back for this. Just for this," Daddario said.

Pineknotter Days is a longtime tradition in Northumberland, which started in 1972. The event is put on by the Northumberland/Point Township Kiwanis Club.

"It's a week-long celebration for the people of the area and everybody seems to enjoy it," Bill Skumanich said.

"It's just a tradition that you look forward to every summer. Fortunately today the weather is perfect," Ashley Cellitti said.

"We come every night. You come every night? Oh yes, we only live a couple of blocks down on queen street. So it's a lot of fun? Yes, we love the entertainment and the food," Peg Daddario said.

A lot of people say the best part of Pineknotter Days is the big selection of food. With dozens of vendors to choose from, you can get almost anything you want, even gigantic baked potatoes.

"I either opt for the Mongolian BBQ or the crab cake sandwich," Cellitti said.

"I love spare ribs. The ice cream is good. And i have to get a funnel cake," both Daddarios said.

Pineknotter Days concludes with live music and fireworks.
