LYCOMING COUNTY--- Matthew Manning, 38, of Hughesville is accused of having and disseminating child porn. He was arrested Thursday.
Manning is a science teacher at Muncy Junior/Senior High School in Lycoming County.
"Very uncomfortable, considering I just had him, like a month ago in school and he was teaching these kids. I think he had a 7th grade class and anyone under 17, just to hear it is weird," said Muncy High School senior Maurice Brown.
Parents with students in the district were concerned by the news, too.
"You know you see people every day and you just never know that something like that is going on behind closed doors, you know what I mean." You can meet them and have no idea, so that's what's really scary," said Tara Bolick of Muncy.
Authorities arrested Manning at Camp Karoondinha near Mifflinburg, a Boy Scout camp, known as Camp K, where Manning was director for the past 3 years.
Right now, there are about 240 youths and adults in that camp.
Officials there said they have been cooperating with investigators and have no reason to believe Manning did anything illegal at the camp.
In a statement to Newswatch 16, scout official Jon Brennan said, "I have not had any contact with authorities questioning anything. If anything was a question about this facility, we would have closed the facility down. "
Manning has been replaced as camp director, there is no word on his employment status with the Muncy School District.
