STROUDSBURG --  An Army veteran is walking across the country to raise awareness of a problem that affects many veterans.

Newswatch 16 caught up with Eric Peters on day three of his journey.

Peters is dressed in fatigues, carrying an American flag, and he's on a mission to raise awareness for PTSD which stands for post-traumatic stress disorder.

At 22 years old, the veteran is on his way to California with the hope that he can help others like him.

"The reason I want to do it is I have PTSD myself, and it's rough. I'm not crazy, I'm not a monster, there's many veterans with PTSD who aren't monsters," said Peters.

Peters started walking Friday in New Jersey and all the money he raises along the way is expected to help other vets, as well as the fallen.
