Firefighters in Wayne County are again mourning the loss of one of their own; the son of a firefighter who died in the line of duty has also lost his life.

Captain Gregory Barnas died fighting a fire back in February in his hometown of Wallington.

Newswatch 16 has learned his son, John, passed away this weekend after battling leukemia.

John Barnas volunteered with fire departments in Browndale and Waymart, just like his father.

He'll be laid to rest this week in New Jersey with a full fireman's funeral according to reports in New Jersey.

John Barnas was 23.
