MONTOURSVILLE -- It was a hot one in our area and the sunshine meant big business for Lowe's in Montoursville.  The air conditioners and fans are conveniently located in the front of the store.

"It's been unbearable.  We bought a new home yesterday and it doesn't have air conditioning so we're like 'we have to do something,'" Danielle Irwin said.

Employees at Lowe's say they are starting to sell a lot of air conditioners.  Irwin was looking for a portable model for her new house.

"We have crank windows so we can't put the regular ones in there that we used to so we need to come up with something different," Irwin said.

Others prefer to cool off outside.  The pool in Williamsport was packed with kids spending the day swimming.

"Since it's summer and it gets really hot out, you can't just go through summer without getting in a pool," Kailey Bozochovic said.

The East End Pool in Williamsport is a busy place when it's hot outside.  The pool was packed with at least 100 kids splashing, playing, and having a great time.

"Swimming around with my friends and stuff.  Swimming around with your friends? It's a hot day and you like cooling off? Yeah," Kaden Bozochovic said.

Other people prefer to swim in their own pools.  These folks stopped by Aquarius Pool and Patio on Pine Street to pick up pool supplies.  Ed Dunn of Williamsport is preparing to open his backyard pool.

"We just got a new liner put in and I come down to test the water.  We just filled it so I come down to test the water and then I go through the chemicals," Dunn said.

Employees say they've been busy testing water for people's swimming pools so they can cool off and beat the heat.
