TOBYHANNA TOWNSHIP — Troopers pulled over a man and found drugs in his vehicle in Monroe County.
State police said Maurice Steele, 26, was pulled over for multiple traffic violations in Tobyhanna Township.
According to officials, during the stop, troopers observed several indicators of criminal activity and were granted consent to search Steele’s vehicle.
State police said approximately 11 pounds of marijuana and 22 packets of synthetic marijuana were found in the trunk in Monroe County.
Troopers said Steele was taken into custody and was charged with two counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and multiple vehicle code violations.
According to authorities, Steele is locked up at the Monroe County Correctional Facility.
