Next time all you people want to make your little comments about New York.. go fix yer own state! Buncha whiners.

    • Bob Redhawk

I was going to say something “smug” about New Yorkers (and New Jeersians, too). Neither of you are “squeeky clean”. (bridgegate, anyone???). But I don’t have to look far in PA to find representatives from either state. Y’all came here, liked what ya saw, and did NOT go home!! So THIS state (PA) can’t be ALL that bad to you if you stayed here now, is it??

  • mary

I am a resident of upstate NY and NY should have been on that list!! It has a lot of corruption from the smallest to be biggest counties/towns!!

THIS IS COMING FROM A REAL COAL CRACKER, I WORKED THE MINES, BREAKERS, SHAKERS, YOU NAME IT. I’M A COUNTRY LOVING FAMILY GUY WHO WOULD DO ANYTHING FOR FAMILY AND FRIENDS, AND OTHERS I DON’T EVEN KNOW, BUT IT TOOK ME 13 YEARS OF PROBATION TO WALK OFF A STUPID SIMPLE ASSAULT ON AN OFFICER, “WHICH WAS SO TRUMPED UP” I HAD A BROKEN LEG AT THE TIME, GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT “I WASN’T DRIVING” THE DRIVER RAN…AND I DID NOT WANT TO GIVE THE NAME OF THE DRIVER…JUST BECAUSE I DID NOT WANT TO SEE HIM IN TROUBLE…”SNITCH” WELL, THAT MADE THE BOYS IN BLUE A LITTLE UPSET, TOOK THIER ANGER OUT ON ME “WITH A BROKEN LEG” AND I WOUND UP GETTING ASSAULT CHARGES…..NORTHUMBERLAND HAS TO BE THE WORST CORRUPT COUNTY EVER….I HAVE NEVER BEEN IN TROUBLE BEFORE, OR AFTER THIS “SO CALLED ASSAULT” IT’S ALL ABOUT MONEY, MONEY, MONEY…

If you took Scranton out of the equation, probably Pennsylvania would not have made it on the list. With our history of corrupt politician’s, Scranton being a hub for easy access to get drugs in from Philly, NY, NJ and murder’s increasing.

  • Bob Dobolino

You want crooks, there are plenty of them in Philadelphia’s City Government. Philadelphia is one of the main reasons PA made the list, in addition to its huge, corrupt State Legislature.

  • Pa booyah

If California, New York, Maryland, Nevada, and Massachusetts are not on the list, I think this is a joke….

    • e

You think this is a joke because you are an uneducated local redneck. California is the most progressive state in the US and only a Pennsylvania idiot would think otherwise. Lol. Your id says it all PA BOOYAH. White redneck trying to be clever. The people of this area look down upon California because they realize that unlike Pa California is the wealthiest and most educated state where most of the population isn’t made up of miserable, uneducated rednecks. Also they realize that they certainly wouldn’t fit in in California, so they go on the defensive and pretend it’s a horrible place to live when in fact the oppostie is true. In Pennsylvania the things that matter are 1. are you married with a pile of kids 2. do you go to church 3. do you belong to a union(working mans bs) 4. how much can you drink etc, etc. In California the only thing that matters is whether you are a decent person, meaning how you treat others. The people in Pa define themselves by nonsense because they fear being compared to a decent area, like California for example. Don’t be hateful because you know that you belong in a crime ridden slum.

E – My goodness aren’t you the pot calling the kettle black. You do an awful lot of name calling for someone who thinks they are above the rest of us peons. First of all, Progressivism isn’t always a good thing. Secondly, I don’t think CA is one of the wealthiest or most educated states in the US. Maybe they have a lot of people with high incomes but I think the income-to-debt ratio for the average CA household sets that off. Most importantly, none of that has anything to do with the amount of corruption in our government officials. Politicians in general are corrupt. Whether they get caught and prosecuted is another story.

Wow so you really just accused us of being narrow minded by writing that? How’s that proggressive Cali education treating you?
Take your smug comments and return to the hole you belong in. I only say that because the standard you put out just now was saying what matters to you is how you treat people that’s how you will be judged. You must be a terrible. narrow minded hypocritical moron.
        Thank you for your time.

        Sincerly,
        PA NATIONAL GUARD VETERAN.

By the way your welcome that our state and our family’s have sent young men and women to war to defend your right to cut us down on the internet. At 23 years old people that act like you just did makes me wonder how long until this country is ruined.

      • Lost faith in humanity

I also understand my spelling and grammar are terrible but just remember I’m one of those mechanics that work on those very expensive hard to understand airplanes you get to fly in.

I am 22 years old and I live in the Pennsylvania Commonwealth. I would not live anywhere else. I like the ability to be outdoors, shoot targets, camp, and have fun. I also do not like restrictions on what firearms I can own, and with what accessories. Where I live, Warren County, is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. I also attended MIT for Computer Science and Programming, please do not call me an uneducated redneck. I do not go to church, I do not have kids, and I do not drink or use drugs. We treat others like family here. Your opinion sounds very one sided, and it is an opinion only. There is virtually no crime here. I would like to see your scientific research and statistics, compiled by you, to back up your thesis. Thanks!

      • smithjace

I just have to say that I have lived in both California and Pennsylvania and California is definitely not as wonderful as you seem to think it is. Get out more sweetie, travel a little bit. Maybe that will open your eyes. I lived in California for 4 years. Taxes are higher for the same goods, people are homeless, starving and unemployed. Laws need reformed. The education system is failing. Its like that everywhere, but California is not perfect. California is a dump compared to other beautiful states I have been to. You must never have seen any part of CA besides the part you live in. Travel to twenty one palms and see how your Marines and navy live.

California? On the brink of Bankruptcy? No? Crime ridden Los Angeles and Oakland? Good People? Hardly think so ! Nut jobs all over the state? No? I think so… You stay there, your kind are not wanted in Pa…

I hope this is not a shock to anyone-NEPA has to be the worse part of the state.Time to get rid of Republicans & Democrats from pffice-there has to be others who will serve-be a good employee to the people who elect them.We need more choices on election day, instead of same old-same old.The newsmedia should cover others running for office. They get one sided with someone running and ram them down our throats. And of course they favor some Rep. or Dem.

  • deanmars2013

Gov. Tom Corbett and his cadre of crooks need to be ousted and prosecuted for their corruption and malfeasance of office! They think they are above the law!

  • Tony Vieyra

Heh, heh. The only reason California isn’t on the list, is they paid off the researchers. Google, “California Fracking Dinners”, and “California Lobbyist firm fined”, to see the stuff that comes out of California. Absolute corruption.

  • YupYup

Not surprised TN is on that list considering Child Services in that state one of the worst in the US and known for its corruption and Malfeasance

  • Justin Senerchia

You people really believed that 30 cent per gallon tax hike on gasoline was going toward fixing the roads???

  • carol

and now that is strange, why is New Jersey left off this list?! They make most other states look good!

  • Gary Onuschak

Not a real shock, seeing that our legislature is either the largest or 2nd in the entire country. And they still refuse to deal with the problems we need fixed. Add to that our wonderful State Supreme Court, and I’m surprised we are not 1 or 2…

  • Otter Joe

Thankfully I don’t live in PA anymore, but from my experiences and miserable childhood, I can honestly say that nobody cares about the children in the Wyoming Valley. I think it must be a throwback to our joyless Eastern European ancestors who would put the kids to work night and day toiling in the fields or household chores. I graduated from W-B area school district in 1990, and by my estimates, between the Ciarvellas and the Nuns and the Priests and the nepotism in the school district, the courthouse, all that undeserving respect Joe Paterno and football received while kids were being sexually abused, why everywhere I turned, corruption was the law of the land. Add to it my parents who are uneducated, fearful and disconnected. Start respecting children a little more and then maybe there won’t be so much undignified and corrupt coal miner trash in charge of the Wyoming Valley.

    • tom

Yes-really-PA politicions-they think it’s the old coall mining days when thet were thought to be royalty. They should wake yp it’s 2014-people don’t believe everthing thyt say. That generation is long gone now.

    • JolhnnieReb

Ha, you’re kidding right Otter Joe? Apparently, your education denied you the right to learn about history. Coal miners at one time were the back bone of Pa., but of course now, they’ve been thrown to the wolves by the liberals. Also, hard work made this country great, but now, because of democrat’s who expect everything for nothing, that greatness has diminished. Look at your President, He has done absolutely nothing for the working man and has divided this country more than any other President in our history. Then again, I’ve never expected him to do anything for us because he believes in handouts and keeping the poor dependent on government. Finally to say your parent’s were uneducated just goes to show how much respect you have for them. I’m sure they did the best with the hand they were dealt, and the fact that you were their child, tells me they must have had their hands full……
