HAZLE TOWNSHIP-- Hazleton Area High School's colors are red and white, but at this year's graduation there was purple too.

Purple ribbons on caps, purple ribbons on gowns, all to honor Kelly Flores.

On Sunday the senior died due to complications from a seizure, just days before she would have put on her own cap and gown.

Her friend Kasey McCoy said, "Tonight is her night as much as it is ours, we should all just sit there in a moment of silence and remember all the amazing things she's done, and pretend like she is here with us even though she is not."

Friends say even though she is gone, they can still see her smile and hear her voice.

An honor student, Kelly loved art and was excited to go to college at Penn State.

Her father, Moses Flores, said Kelly would do anything to help her fellow students, and he is proud of the way she inspired her class.

A class that gave his daughter a standing ovation as her parents accepted her diploma.

McCoy said, "Her legacy will be a girl that never gave up, no matter what hardships came, and that just followed her dreams."
