SCRANTON -- Scranton police now say they have a man in custody accused of stabbing a teenager in Scranton.
Police say, Garfield Alexander was taken into custody after 11 a.m. Wednesday in Forty Fort.
A fight between a couple led to a Wednesday morning stabbing across the street from a Scranton school.
Authorities said a 17-year-old boy was stabbed when he stepped in to protect his mother from a man near South Scranton Intermediate on Slocum Avenue just before 3:30 a.m.
The victim was rushed to the hospital. Police have not released the name or condition of the teenager.
