AVOCA -- A young man from Lackawanna County who has served our country in the war on terror is back home.

Marine Corporal John Lubeck got off his plane at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport on Monday night.

The solider from Blakely is back in the area for the first time since his second tour in Afghanistan ended in May.

He was greeted by members of the Lackawanna County chapter of the enforcers motorcycle club.  They escorted the soldier back home to surprise his mother.

The corporal tells Newswatch 16 he will be wrapping up his military service in August.
