WILKES-BARRE -- A guilty plea was entered by a man accused of a violent rape and assault in Luzerne County.
Emmanuel Paulino of West Hazleton pleaded guilty on Monday to assault, but the more serious charge of rape was withdrawn as part of a plea agreement.
The attack happened in November at an apartment near Hazleton.
Paulino told investigators he was high on drugs when the assault happened.
He is scheduled to be sentenced in August.
