PLAINS TOWNSHIP --- Two students from the Wilkes-Barre area are headed to a national competition after graduating Tuesday evening.
Ayla Samano and Casey Ross from Wilkes-Barre Area Career and Technical Center in Plains Township are headed to Kansas City, Missouri.
They will compete in the Skills USA national contest for television and video production.
Ayla and Casey will have to produce a 60 second video with a theme.
They'll be judged on the quality of the video and the story behind it.
Both students say they're ready to go.
"So excited, just graduated from Wilkes-Barre Technical Center, ready to get out there and start my career," said Casey Ross.
"I want to further my education at LCCC and become a TV news anchor, " said Ayla Samano.
Skills USA serves more than 300,000 high school and college students enrolled in technical and skilled programs.
Ayla and Casey head to nationals in Missouri at the end of June.
