Fire Crews Keep Fire from Destroying Home

HONESDALE —Fire crews in Wayne County were able to keep a kitchen fire from destroying a home.

Smoke was coming from the place on East Street just after 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Police said a man  left a pot on the stove unattended for a few minutes and when he came back, flames were everywhere.

Neighbors tried to use a hose to put it out to no avail.

It took fire crews 10 minutes or so to get the fire under control.

No one was hurt in the fire in Honesdale.
