JIM THORPE -- A jury was selected Monday in Carbon County in the trial of the former mayor of Coaldale.

Richard Corkery faces 27 felony counts for allegedly downloading child pornography on a computer at WLSH radio station in Nesquehoning where he worked as an on-air personality.

"My hands are tied, there's tape across my mouth. I really can't (say anything)," said Corkery. "I have lots to say, but unfortunately I'm prohibited."

Opening statements in Corkery's trial are scheduled to begin next week in Carbon County court.
