SCRANTON — Tracey’s Hope Hospice Care and Animal Rescue held its 6th Annual Pet Walk and Celebration of Life fundraiser at McDade Park.
Many pets tagged along with the owners on the walk.
Thirty of the dogs were rescued from John Tanis, a man from Moosic who is facing animal abuse charges. Those animals are now in foster care with Tracey’s Hope.
“We rescued 30 dogs from the Moosic case and we’re responsible for all of those vet bills and it’s quite a bit of an expense,” said Denise Kumor, the founder of Tracey’s Hope.
The rescue group hoped to raise $10,000 from Saturday’s event at McDade.
