SCHUYLKILL HAVEN — The Schuylkill Haven fire chief confirms one person is dead at the scene of a fire on East Main Street in the borough.

Crews were called to the three-story house shortly after noon on Friday.

A fire marshal is being called in to check out the cause of the fire.

Some of those same firefighters spent the morning in nearby South Manheim Township, where there was a fire at a home on South Shue String Lane. The coroner was called to that location.

These row homes are always catching fire down there.
The homes are so old the wiring in them is rotted and the insulation frayed.
Then you have fires like this.
    No surprises here.
