KINGSTON TOWNSHIP -- A judge ruled there is enough evidence to send a prison inmate to trial on charges he slashed a corrections officer with a homemade weapon.
Joel Perez was in court in Luzerne County Thursday morning for a preliminary hearing.
Investigators say Perez slashed Francis Petrowski in the face last month at the state prison near Dallas using two razor blades embedded in a toothbrush. Petrowski is recovering.
Perez is currently serving time for a 1996 homicide conviction in Lancaster County.
