TUNKHANNOCK TOWNSHIP -- An annual musical festival has taken over the Lazy Brook Park near Tunkhannock.
"It's a great festival. We have a lot of fun," said Tom Moninghoff, who comes to the festival every year.
It's the 7th annual NEPA bluegrass festival.
More than 1,200 people are expected to camp out in the park and attend the weekend long concert. Bands travel from up and down the east coast to play here in Wyoming County.
"A band from Georgia, a band from Branson, Missouri, a band from Albany, New York. They're coming from all over, I even have a few Canadians coming down. It's a pretty good festival here," said Danny Stewart, the festival organizer.
"I've been coming here for seven years now. I've been to everyone and I've kind of grown up in the area and all around it just a great festival," said Danny Stewart Jr., an artist at the festival.
There are two stages at the event. The main stage is where people will come to listen to the traditional blue grass music.
"What I mean by traditional is bluegrass with guitars, banjos, mandolins, bass, no electric," said Stewart.
"As a musician, it's amazing. You walk along from noon to midnight and midnight till noon. There's always someone to pick with," said Ashley Stewart, an artist.
"Here we run into the greatest people going, I'll tell ya," said Moninghoff.
The bluegrass festival near Tunkhannock runs until Sunday night.
