PENN FOREST TOWNSHIP --- People who live in a Carbon County housing community are surprised after hearing the news that thieves targeted several of their neighbors.

A drive down Pawnee Lane in the Mount Pocahontas Develoment and you see more trees than houses but state police said a thief or theives saw targets in Penn Forest Township near Albrightsville.

Troopers said someone broke into the crawl space under one house and another and stole all the copper piping at the end of last week.

John Partenio has lived on Pawnee Lane for more than 20 years. He said it's actually a pretty busy part of the development.

"It's up and down, you'll see traffic passing by now. I mean it's constant. At one time it was quiet , you expect it more in the past than now," said Partenio.

Kelly fisher lives on Pawnee Lane too.

She said Mount Pocahontas does have some vacation homes but in the area of the thefts, most people live year round.

One home on Nosirrah Road had a lawn mower, tank and ladder taken.

Mount Pocahontas has a security company patrolling now keeping a closer look.

Numerous cameras are in common areas.
