Two children from our area are in the national spelling bee in Washington D.C.

Tushan Dargan, 9,  is a 5th grader at Good Shepherd Academy in Edwardsville.

He is one of the youngest competitors at the Scripps National Spelling Bee.

Devina Singh, 13, is an 8th grader at North Schuylkill Junior/Senior High School in Ashland.

Both would love to end up where then 14-year old Sukanya Roy of Abington Heights student was back in 2011.

She won the national spelling bee and won more than $40,000 dollars in cash and prizes.
