EAST STROUDSBURG -- Monroe County voted to have David Parker from East Stroudsburg as their Republican candidate for the new 115th District in the primary election.

The 115th is a new district to the Poconos. It was moved during the state's redistricting process due to the growing population.

It is composed of Coolbaugh, Price, Paradise, and Stroud Townships, as well as Stroudsburg and East Stroudsburg boroughs.

"The campaign has been about building relationships and growing supporters and we've done that throughout the campaign and to get people to go out and vote really shows that we accomplished what we needed to do. Now we just need to continue to do that on into the November election and gather more support and build those relationships that we need to go to Harrisburg and solve problems for Monroe County and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania," Parker said.

Running on the ticket were four candidates: Jackie Leonard, Dr. Anthony Diecidue, Pete Betgle, and Parker.

Parker will face the Democratic candidate Maureen Madden in the general election. She ran unopposed in the primary.
