SAN CARLOS, FL. -- First-degree murder charges have been filed against a man from Fort Myers, Florida who is accused of killing a man originally from Union County.

Police believe Michael Spiegel, 70, murdered Harry Carlip, formerly of Lewisburg, along with Spiegel's ex-wife last Thursday at a marina near Fort Myers.

Carlip and his fiance Marilyn were killed just days before their wedding. Witnesses said they saw Spiegel walking away from the couple's boat covered in blood and carrying a briefcase.

Spiegel is locked up in Florida and is expected back in court in June.
