CLINTON TOWNSHIP -- Family and friends came together in part of Wayne County to help a woman's family, after she died of cancer.

Lisa Plevyak-Suchniak passed away in April, one year after she was diagnosed with the disease.

The event Live, Laugh, Love for Lisa was already planned at the Browndale Sportsman's Club near Forest City.

All the money raised will go to help with medical costs and funeral expenses.

"This is the world to Lisa right now to see all her family and friends, even strangers coming to support her. She wanted so much to survive and last to this day, unfortunately she didn't," said Denise Fife, a friend of Lisa.

Tickets for the event went for $15. There was food, T-shirts and bracelets for sale to help pay the medical bills.
