Northwest junior Tyler Burger picked up four gold medals on Tuesday May 13th, 2014 at the District II AA Track and Field Championships at Scranton Memorial Stadium.

Burger won the long jump by clearing 22 feet 2 1/4 inches. He also took home 1st place in the boy's high jump going over 6 feet.

Then in the nightcap events two more gold medals-first in the boy's 110 high hurdles with a winning time of 15.21 seconds then in the 300 hurdles winning in 39.11 seconds.

The Elk Lake girl's 3200 meter relay team won gold in 10:06.29 seconds. The Lakeland boy's also won the 3200 meter relay race in 8:35.77 seconds and secured the team title.

Cassidy Jenkins the Lakeland junior hurdler won two gold medals. She won the 100 hurdles in 15.42 seconds and set a new District II record in the 300 hurdles. The Lakeland girl's won the team title in District II AA.

Nalaysia Johnson the Wilkes-Barre Meyers freshman won the 100 meter dash in 12.80 seconds.

Brook Estadt also a freshman from Lakeland took 1st in the girl's triple jump 37-5 1/4.

Tess Kearns and Mackenzie Greenfield made it a photo finish for Holy Cross going 1-2 in the girl's 1600 meter run. The winning time for Kearns was 5:13.33 seconds.

Anthony Maurent the Wilkes-Barre GAR sophomore won the boy's 100 meter dash in 11.10 seconds.

The PIAA State Track and Field Championships take place May 23rd and 24th at Shippensburg University.
