Many found fun ways to celebrate their moms on Mother's Day. In one Schuylkill County community, it's a tradition to take mom out to the fire hall.
Cressona Fire Company #1 cooks up quite a feast. Turkey or ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and of course a choice of desserts.
The money raised goes to the fire company.
"We always like to think about the community and how we can help," said Marg Eshleman, a member of the fire hall.
Organizers said it was an exceptionally successful year, serving almost 180 Mother's Day meals. Cressona Fire Company #1 is having a Father's Day dinner in June.
Some mother's enjoyed some grub with their loved ones at B&B Family Restaurant in Scott Township near Clarks Summit.
The place had several breakfast and lunch specials on Sunday to give mom's a chance to enjoy a relaxing day and good food.
"We're out for Mother's Day brunch, get mom out of the kitchen so she doesn't have to work hard today," Bill Shaw, of Lake Winola.
