Kayla Merkel the Hazleton Area freshman won gold at the District II AAA Track and Field Championships on Monday May 12th, 2014 in the girl's javelin throw at Scranton Memorial Stadium.

Anthony Khalife from Wilkes-Barre Coughlin edged out Anthony Bouselli from Wallenpaupack in the boy's discus throw. Khalife the Crusaders senior finished first in District II with a throw of 164 feet 5 inches.

Jermichael Bunch from Wyoming Valley West won the boy's long jump. He hit 21 feet 5 inches for the title.

Scranton Prep junior javelin thrower Nick Solfanelli won gold on Monday by hitting 193 feet 7 inches.

Regan Rome the Dallas senior distance runner doubled up by winning the 1600 in 5:01.47  and also taking the 3200 meter run.

Katie Kravitsky also from Dallas tied the District II AAA record of 5 feet 5 inches in the girl's high jump. Kravitsky missed at 5 feet 6 inches on her final jump.

Dominic Deluca the Dallas senior long distance runner took gold in the 1600 with a time of 4:20.76 then set a new district mark in the 3200 meter run.

Jasmine Stevenson from Wallenpaupack won the girl's 200 meter dash in 25.35 seconds.

Kareem Payne helped Delaware Valley win the boy's team title by winning the 100 and 200 meter dash. His winning time in the 200 was 21.90 seconds.

And finally Madison Mimnaugh from Pittston Area edged out Kaitlyn Lewis from North Pocono in the girl's 400. Pittston Area took home the team title in AAA and Mimnaugh set a new District II AAA record of 57.58 seconds in the 400.
