WILKES-BARRE — Holy Saviour Church in the East End of Wilkes-Barre is scheduled to close its doors for good, according to a spokesperson for the Diocese of Scranton.
Holy Saviour is slated to host its final mass on June 29.
The church is part of the St. Andre Bessette parish, which is made up of Holy Saviour, St. Stanislaus Koska, and Sacred Heart of Jesus churches.
Holy Saviour church served as a secondary worship site for the parish, and after an evaluation, it was determined that the building should be closed.
The St. Stanislaus Koska church building has served as the primary site for church services and will remain open.
