KULPMONT--People gathered in Northumberland County today for a centennial celebration. Balloons, cake, friends and family--all the makings of a perfect birthday party. What makes this party at Life Geisinger in Kulpmont, unique is there were two guests of honor, and they both are about to turn 100 years old!

"I'm in shock. You're in shock? Yeah," Gladys Long said.

"Oh my god, do you see the tears in my eyes? I was surprised," Violet Feudale said.

Violet Feudale of Marion Heights and Gladys Long of Riverside will soon be 100 years young. The staff at Life Geisinger in Kulpmont threw them a big party.

Paul Conniff is the activities director at Life Geisinger and says Gladys and Violet come to the center everyday. He says Gladys is an avid pianist, and Violet likes to take part in many activities.

"Violet's blind, she has trouble seeing, so we have to give her cognitive things, like feel things, things that you can touch, sensory things," Conniff said.

Many of Gladys and Violet's friends, family members and neighbors came to the party.

Some guests could not be here to share Violet and Gladys' special day, but President Barack Obama and his wife, First Lady Michelle Obama sent their best wishes from the White House.

Gladys and Violet share their secrets to staying so happy.

"I guess having things that you have to do haha," Long said.

"I ain't got no secret, I worked hard all my life. You what? I worked hard all my life," Feudale said.

Feudale says she lives everyday by a certain motto:

"We don't make a lot of money, but we have a lot of fun," Feudale said.

And they sure did have a lot of fun at their unforgettable 100th birthday party.
