The 2014 Schuylkill League Track and Field Championships took place at Tamaqua Area high-school on Wednesday night.

Tyler Hope from Tamaqua won the boy's javelin throw hitting 178 feet 8 inches for the league title.

Carly Gregas the North Schuylkill junior cleared 5 feet 2 inches to win the girl's high jump.

Colton Cryts the senior from Blue Mountain set a new school record in the long jump going 22 feet 6 inches in the finals of the Schuylkill League Championships-also winning the title.

Paige Stoner helped out here 3200 meter relay team on Wednesday night in the final leg pulling out the win over Blue Mountain and Tamaqua. Stoner also won the girl's mile breaking the 5:00 minute mark-coming in around 4:56.

The girl's 300 hurdles champion is Devon Matz from Jim Thorpe winning in 48.29 seconds.

Jason Wilson the senior from Schuylkill Haven won the boy's 300 hurdles in 41.21

It was Maddie Frew from Pine Grove coming home in 1st place in the girl's 100 hurdles in 16.55 seconds.

Kris Karlonis from North Schuylkill won the 110 high hurdles in 15.83 seconds.

Sarah Lombel from Pottsville won the girl's 100 meter dash in 13.02 seconds.

Chris Bruno from Marian Catholic edged out James Close from Pottsville to win the boy's 100 meter dash in 11.43 seconds. Definitely a photo finish.

AJ Stevens from Pottsville won the boy's triple jump with a leap of 46 feet 1 inch. Stevens finished 4th at the Penn Relays earlier in the season.

The District 11 Track and Field Championships take place next Wednesday and Thursday May 14-15 at East Stroudsburg South Area high-school.
