HANOVER TOWNSHIP — Police are looking for the driver responsible for a hit and run that trashed some headstones at a cemetery in Luzerne County.

Six grave markers were knocked over or pushed aside when a car or truck plowed into them at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hanover Township, just outside Wilkes-Barre.

Cemetery workers say it happened sometime overnight Saturday.

Among the markers damaged are those of veterans.

Authorities said the metallic green vehicle should have damage on the front and back.

If you have information, you’re asked to call Hanover Township police at 570- 825-1254.

I take care of some graves of my fsmily members, this surely sickens me to see the distructive damage for these headstones. If i ever catch anyone destroying headstones, you better be sure, i would make.them decorate and clean every single grave in the cemetery.
