Headstones Damaged By Vandals

HANOVER TOWNSHIP — Police are looking for the driver responsible for a hit and run that trashed some headstones at a cemetery in Luzerne County.

Six grave markers were knocked over or pushed aside when a car or truck plowed into them at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hanover Township, just outside Wilkes-Barre.

Cemetery workers say it happened sometime overnight Saturday.

Among the markers damaged are those of veterans.

Authorities said the metallic green vehicle should have damage on the front and back.

    I take care of some graves of my fsmily members, this surely sickens me to see the distructive damage for these headstones. If i ever catch anyone destroying headstones, you better be sure, i would make.them decorate and clean every single grave in the cemetery.
