POTTSVILLE -- There was a reunion on Sunday to celebrate a long-time broadcasting company that brought the first radio station to Schuylkill County.

WPPA-AM went on the air back in 1948. That station, and WAVT-FM are owned by the Pottsville Broadcasting Company.

On Sunday, decades worth of radio personalities, office staff, and other employees came together at the Pottsville Zone on Peacock Street to share stories of the people, events, and good and difficult times that everyone experienced while working for the PBC.

The founder's son, Argie Tidmore, now runs the company.

WAVT-FM is a locally owned, and operated radio station which is an uncommon thing in the broadcast industry.
