Special Olympic Athletes Excel

MOSCOW — More than 100 students took part in the 2014 Special Olympics in Lackawanna County.

The games were held Thursday at North Pocono Middle School in Moscow.

Athletes from several school districts competed in a number of events including the wheel chair race, 50-meter run, and long jump.

They were also treated to lunch.

Tux from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and Champ from the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders also stopped by to cheer on the athletes.
