This weekend marked the 25th anniversary of the return of minor league baseball to Northeast Pennsylvania!

On April 26th, 1989, the Red Barons made their debut at the Lackawanna County Stadium, as the Phillies Triple-A team.

Then in 2006, the New York Yankees brought their franchise to the newly named PNC Field. The SWB Yankees remained until new ownership arrived in 2013, and re-named the club as the SWB RailRiders.

We've seen some of baseball's biggest stars play here from Roger Clemens, to Alex Rodriguez, and even Derek Jeter.

As we welcome the milestone, we hope to be reporting for 25 more years of minor league baseball in Northeast Pennsylvania.
