Motel Burns in Wilkes-Barre

WILKES-BARRE —  Flames broke out at the Wilkes-Barre Lodge Motel Sunday morning.

Officials said the blaze started in 2nd floor room. The two tenants tried to put the fire out, but were unsuccessful.

When firefighters arrived, they were able to keep the flames from spreading.  The assistant fire chief said six rooms in total were damaged, and the tenants were moved to other rooms in the motel.

The motel is able to stay open.

The Wilkes-Barre Fire Marshal is investigating, and the cause of the fire has not yet been released.
