SCRANTON -- Two thousand people showed up to the largest event for autism awareness in Lackawanna County.

This was the 11th "Parents Loving Children Through Autism Awareness" community event.

"When you first hear that diagnosis you feel very isolated, and there's nothing more welcoming than a whole community walking for your child," said Kathleen Walsh, the organizer of the walk.

The 5K walk began and ended Saturday morning at Nay Aug Park in Lackawanna County.
