STROUDSBURG — A sentence was handed down Thursday for a shooting that injured a teenage girl in Monroe County.

Dominique Smith received six to 18 years in prison.

Smith pleaded guilty to aggravated assault for shooting a 17-year-old girl in the head during a drug deal near Tobyhanna in 2012 when he was just 17.

In addition to prison time, a Monroe County judge ordered Smith to pay restitution, take GED classes and undergo a mental health evaluation.
