Police Chase Ends With Car in Hotel Room

PITTSTON TOWNSHIP — A driver is on the run after leading police in Luzerne County on a chase that ended when the car slammed a hotel room.

Officers were chasing the car early Thursday morning after the driver would not pull over for a traffic stop on Route 315 near Pittston.

The driver tried to hide in the Knights Inn parking lot.  He ended up crashing the car into one of the rooms.

Two people were inside the room when the car smashed through. One of them talked to Newswatch 16 about the scary experience.

“I was asleep, I thought an earthquake hit me.  I started screaming and realized there’s a car in my room,” said Jeanne Milton, of Oklahoma.

“I just sat there petrified trying to figure out how to move, there’s glass all over the place, in the bed and everything,” said Milton.

Workers at the hotel said the place will stay open despite the damage and no guests were asked to leave.

The driver ran away from the crash. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the driver is asked to call police in Luzerne County.
