Bridge Replacement Project Underway in Schuylkill County

PORT CARBON — A much needed bridge replacement project is now underway in Schuylkill County.

The mayor of Port Carbon told Newswatch 16,  the Pottsville Street bridge is now closed to traffic as PennDOT begins its 1.8 million dollar project to replace the 90-year old bridge.

The mayor said a detour is set up around the bridge.

Work is expected to last through October.

    WOW! 7 months for a 30 foot long bridge..LMAO! tax dollars hard at work! do it in 2 and save a few hundred thousand….
