Man Working Outside Found Body in Pond

RANSOM TOWNSHIP -- A land owner found remains of a woman in a pond on his property while doing work outside Saturday afternoon.

According to officials,  the body of an unidentified female was found around 4:00 p.m. in the pond off of Main Street.

The Lackawanna County Coroner's Office and Pennsylvania State Police at Dunmore are conducting the investigation.

Officials said an examination of the remains is set for Monday.

The deputy coroner said it's possible the body was there for months.
