Ray Niedzwiecki started bowling in 1949, and his game has continued to improve with age. Last month, at 81 years old, Ray bowled a perfect game! So, I thought he would be the best person to teach me how to bowl. We went to Modern Lanes in Exeter, where Ray is regular bowler, and with the proper shoes and bowling ball, I was ready to go! I first watched Ray bowl a few strikes with ease, but quickly learned that bowling is a lot more difficult than it looks. I threw dozens of balls into the gutter, and in a game where you are supposed to throw strikes, I just kept striking out. Ray continued to offer advice and support throughout my bowling experience, and finally I was able finish with a spare!
