Last year, Loyalsock found the holes and found a way to win the AA championship. Much is the same again this year, with a talented team returning the only difference is the Lancers have a bullseye on their back.

"Just keeping guys focused and not letting anyone get complacent. We know we have here at Loyalsock.  The talent that we have and what we return from last year's state championship team," said head coach Jeremy Eck.

The 'Sock in the Lancer line-up starts with Jimmy Webb, who is verbally committed to Wake Forest. It then rolls into the three hole where North Carolina recruit and 'Sock shortstop Kyle Datres bats. Finally, hard throwing right hander Luke Glavine gets a turn in the 8 hole. Duke is his next stop, and bunched in there with guys like Phil Krizan, Tommy Baggett, Ben Sosa, Bailey Young, and Evan Moore... Enough to handle for any opposing pitcher.

"The good thing about our team is no one is scared of anything, so we're all talking to each other all the time and we're close enough because we've been playing with each other forever that we can tell each other anything, and we're not afraid to hold anything back," said Webb.

"I love these guys. I've been playing with them since we've been six, seven years old and we've become a family and we just are going to continue that out on field with our chemistry," said Datres.

"We're real deep we have guys on our bench that can play obviously all 9 out there. That's why we're so successful because we can run 9 guys out there," said Glavine.

With Glavine, Datres, and Webb, you get three kids all who can pitch and verbally committed to three different Atlantic Conference schools.  For head coach Jeremy Eck, he gets their services not only this year but next year because all three are juniors.

"It's great coming into the season knowing what can happen with this group of guys. We've done it before and we just have to continue to stay focused and continue to get better every single day. "

The need to focus comes April 17th when Loyalsock faces state powerhouse West York.
