RUSH TOWNSHIP -- It was a day to say goodbye to three children who lost their lives too soon.
Daniel Dissinger,13, and his brothers Gavin, 7, and Arthur, 2, died when their Rush Township home went up in flames last week.
At the time of the overnight fire the five Dissinger children were sleeping and only two of them made it out alive.
"We're all heartbroken, for all of them. For all the children, the Dissinger family, Mrs.Dissinger and the remaining children," Daniel's fifth grade teacher Melinda Rosini said.
A few hundred people came to the Danville Mennonite Church. Many of them family and friends. Others who didn't know the Dissingers stopped to pay respect to a family coping with a horrible tragedy.
"What can I say it’s a disaster, I mean it's bad. You think of your own kids God forbid you know, it's sad," Northumberland County commissioner Vinny Clausi said.
Students and teachers from the Danville Area School District also stopped to pay their respects.
Daniel was a sixth grader at Danville Middle School.
His former teacher says she'll never forget him.
"He would smile all the time. He was a happy, happy young man. He smiled. He was a typical fifth grade boy. He was very, very happy," Rosini said.
The cause of the deadly fire is still under investigation.
The coroner has ruled the boys deaths as accidental.
Those who knew the kids are having a hard time coping with the fact that they're gone.
"Knowing Daniel the way he loved his siblings so much, you never know what really happened but I'm sure he felt responsible for them. So whatever happened, I know he made his choice," Rosini said.
The three brothers will be laid to rest at a later date.
The funeral home director told Newswatch 16 they are working to have the kids buried with their father.
He died a few years ago and is buried at Fort Indiantown Gap.
