Family Loses Home to Fire

AVOCA -- A family was forced out of their home by flames Sunday afternoon.

Firefighters responded after fire broke out at this home in Avoca this afternoon.

Smoke poured from the home along Main Street shortly before 3 p.m. Authorities said no one was hurt.

Firefighters believe the fire started in the rear of the home.

A state police fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.

The residents of the home were the assistant pastor of the Moosic Alliance Community Church, and his family.

According to the main pastor of the church, several parishoners have offered the family a place to stay.
