Nine People in Custody After Prescription Drug Ring Bust

LEHIGH VALLEY — Nine people are in custody, including two women from our area, after a drug bust in the Lehigh Valley.

According to the Attorney General’s Office, Alison and Barbara Monfre from Carbon County both face a slew of charges after authorities say the two were involved in a prescription drug ring.

Authorities say the theft of a prescription pad resulted in the theft of more than 1,000 Oxycodone tablets.

The charges against the women from Summit Hill include forgery, deception, conspiracy and theft.

It’s idiots like these that are the reason it’s becoming so difficult for people who actually have a medical need for prescription painkillers to obtain them. They make every one seem suspect.
