Several bridge repair projects in Lackawanna County are now underway.
In Benton Township, part of a wall holding up the bridge on Route 438 near Lackawanna State Park has started to collapse and needs to be replaced, according to PennDOT.
Drivers traveling in that area must take a detour.
The bridge replacement project is scheduled to be completed by spring of next year.
In Scranton, barriers were put up Tuesday along the Green Ridge Street bridge.
Officials say the bridge will be down to one lane in each direction while work is done.
Repairs are expected to take about a month.
